The City Archive of  Dornbirn functions as a documentation centre for local history and town government and as a service centre for all citizens, scholars and scientists interested in the past of Dornbirn. The archive has been carrying out its own research on topics such as traditional medicine or visual history in the town and region and has been publishing the results in its own series called "Dornbirner Schriften".
